HISTORY

Senator O’Connor, founded by the Christian Brothers, is a semestered co-educational school with approximately 1300 students. O’Connor serves a diverse population and is recognized for its high academic expectations and lively school spirit.

The motto of the school is Audax et Fidelis, which may be freely translated as “Courageous and Faithful”. The school community strives to live up to the intent of this motto by demonstrating fidelity to the teachings and moral values of our Catholic faith, while pursuing innovation and excellence in our educational program. Excellence is defined not only in terms of scholarly achievement, but also participation in co-curricular activities, contribution to the community and involvement in the social and cultural life of the school.

THE ARTS
The Senator O’Connor Arts Department is where students find their voice.  The study of Arts allows students to increase their executive functioning skills, by increasing their focus, assisting with impulse control, aiding in sequential planning, and furthering their working memory.  These learning and innovative skills are what will separate them from the rest. This expressive and creative discipline will encourage and ready students as they navigate the world ahead of them.

The thriving Arts department at O'Connor offers courses in music, drama, art, and design.  Students will have many opportunities to participate in various shows, clubs, and councils all connected the arts.
